The Maripark concept envisions designated sea areas that combine commercial activities with nature preservation, facilitated by basic infrastructure and streamlined permitting processes. These zones offer a secure environment for offshore businesses, promoting investment in new industries and sustainable blue economic growth. Maripark would emphasize multi-use space and an ecosystem-based approach for environmental benefits. The research aims to explore the potential of Maripark in balancing economic growth and ecosystem preservation, considering various complexities from economic, social, legal, and environmental perspectives, particularly focusing on the rapidly growing wind energy industry in the North Sea.
